When students reflect on their progress  as learner, they become increasingly aware of their own progress and achievement and where they need to move to next. Effective writing instruction will develop students’ self confidence and independence in selecting and using appropriate strategies to address the challenges and demands of writing within the specific writing task they are undertaking.
